1. Govt approves operationalization strategy for Operation Greens

The govt. on Monday approved the operationalization strategy for Operation Greens to assure the availability of Tomato, Onion, and Potato throughout the country round the year without price volatility.

Operation Greens was announced in the Budget speech of 2018-19 with a budget of 500 crore rupees to stabilize the supply of tomato, onion and potato crops.

2. India, South Korea sign MoU to boost tourism

Indian Ministry of Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday with the Ministry of Tourism of South Korea for strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism in New Delhi.

South Korea is one of the leading tourists generating a market for India from East Asia.

3. Anupam Kher gets ‘Distinguished Fellow’ award by US think-tank

Veteran actor Anupam Kher was honored as a ‘Distinguished Fellow’ by IndiaGlobal – a leading think-tank that works on issues concerning non-resident Indians in Boston.

Anupam Kher holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Award for Best Comedian five times in total for movies which are:  Ram Lakhan (1989), Lamhe (1991), Khel (1992), Darr (1993) and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995).

4India, Malawi sign MoUs on extradition treaty, atomic energy, and visa waiver

India and Malawi on November 5 signed three MoUs on extradition, cooperation in atomic energy and visa waiver for diplomats and officials as Vice President Venkaiah Naidu met Malawian President Arthur Peter Mutharika and held wide-ranging talks.

India will also extend a new Line of credit of 215 million US dollars to Malawi for 18 water projects.

5. Turkey unveils world’s largest airport in Istanbul

President Tayyip Erdogan opened a new $11.7 billion airport outside Istanbul that will be one of the world’s busiest, though delays mean it will not be fully operational until January.

The name of the new airport will be Istanbul Airport.

It also uses mobile applications and artificial intelligence for customers is energy efficient and boasts a high-tech security system.

6. Rahul Dravid Becomes Fifth Indian To Be Inducted Into ICC Hall Of Fame

Rahul Dravid joins Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Anil Kumble in the ICC Hall of Fame.

Former India captain Rahul Dravid was officially inducted into the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Hall of Fame ahead of the fifth and final One-day International between India and the Windies in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

7. Japan to lend Rs 1,817 cr for a hydel power project in West Bengal

India and Japan on Friday signed a Rs 1,817 crore loan agreement for the construction of the Turga pumped storage hydel power project at Purulia in West Bengal.

This project will contribute to the industrial development and living standards in the state.

8. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Inaugurates Signature Bridge In Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated Delhi’s Signature Bridge, the first asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge in India.

The signature bridge was constructed by the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) at an expenditure of Rs 1,518.37 crore. The 675-meter bridge aims to reduce travel time and traffic congestion between the north-eastern and northern parts of Delhi.
